Picacho Peak

Picacho Park
November 16-18

We are staying at the Jackrabbit Group Area, which is the farthest campsite from the entrance. For those joining just for Saturday and not camping out, we’ll meet at the Sunset Vista Trail Head at 10am on Saturday, and hike the 3.1 miles to Picacho Peak. GLOVES are recommended for the cables. The ranger estimates 3-4 hours for the round trip (6.2 miles total). You can review the map for various options, including hiking that doesn’t go to the peak, and includes the visitor center and ranger station. You can pay for your parking at the ranger station 8am-5pm.
